Hi everybody! I don't have a lot of time today, so I'm going to try and sum up the week with the use of pictures. We are really aching with our mile allotment, the size of our area just doubled and our miles did not... so we are trying to get creative and find more things to do in town. It's teaching us how to be more frugal and better planners. Paul Ryan came and spoke in Harrisonburg on Friday, so Thursday we went and drew the Plan of Salvation on the sidewalk in Court Square which gets a lot of traffic in town. That was pretty fun, and we got to talk to a lot of people.
Saturday we drove to Franklin, WV for the treasure festival, or something like that. It was AWESOME. We set up a free lemonade stand and played corn hole with boards that looked like the bible and the book of mormon. I wish I had a picture of that... dang. But again, we got to talk to a lot of people. I've discovered that that's when I'm really in my element - when I just get to be in a crowd and talk to a lot of different people and share a gospel message. I'm good at it, but only because I know I'm getting a little extra help! :) West Virginia is so beautiful, and the drive was just awesome. You guys would have loved it!
Last night, we got locked out of our apartment. And wouldn't you know, watching all those spy movies finally paid off, because I picked the lock and got us back in in under 10 minutes. I'm actually pretty proud of myself for that one. It makes me feel ultra safe knowing that someone of my skill and calibur could so easily get through my door...
We also had to jump start our car this week. A light got left on and it died, and we just couldn't get it started. We were trying for a good 30 minutes, and then the youngest missionary asked if we had said a prayer... and we hadn't. You would have thought that'd been our first step in all of this. So we said a prayer, and 10 seconds later the car started. We all learned a little something there.
Well, I have to get going. Thanks for all your prayers and love and support. They are definitely needed and felt.
Love,
Sister Skousen
